Registering Your Business As An S Corp vs. C Corp: What Are the Pros and Cons?

All small business owners must choose a business structure. Whether you are starting a new business or have an existing business structured as a limited liability company (LLC) or sole proprietorship, there are advantages and disadvantages that come with each type of legal entity.

Click the button below to learn the pros and cons of small businesses becoming an S corp or a C corp. While these are good considerations to keep in mind, you should also speak with your accountant or attorney. They can help you determine which business structure would be best based on your business income, eligibility requirements, and other factors.

The Small Business Summer Reset – Stepping Back To Keep Things On Track

Summer provides a valuable opportunity for small business owners to pause, assess, and plan for the future. With the year nearly halfway complete, it’s an ideal time to review financial performance, evaluate progress toward goals, and identify areas where adjustments may be needed. Taking a closer look at revenue trends, expenses, staffing needs, and customer feedback can reveal opportunities for growth while helping to address potential challenges before they become larger issues. Rather than waiting until the end of the year, a mid-year review allows business owners to make strategic decisions while there is still plenty of time to influence outcomes.

The summer months are also a great time to think beyond day-to-day operations and focus on long-term success. Business owners can use this period to revisit marketing strategies, explore new products or services and begin planning for the busy fall and holiday seasons. By stepping back and taking a fresh look at the business, entrepreneurs can gain valuable perspective to ensure they are positioned for continued growth. A little time spent evaluating today can lead to stronger performance and greater resilience in the months and years ahead.

June is Workplace Safety Month, a time to recognize the critical role that safety plays in every workplace. Whether employees work in an office, on a construction site, in a healthcare facility, or behind the scenes of a small business – maintaining a safe work environment is essential to both individual well-being and organizational success.

When organizations invest in proper training, clear communication, and proactive safety measures, they demonstrate that the health and welfare of their team members is a top priority. Even small actions, such as conducting regular safety inspections, encouraging employees to report hazards, and providing appropriate equipment can make a significant difference in preventing workplace incidents.

Workplace Safety Month serves as an important reminder that safety is everyone’s responsibility. Employers, managers, and employees all play a role in identifying risks and promoting safe practices throughout the year. By fostering a culture of awareness and accountability, businesses can create environments where everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.
